Cambridge Hindu Society Condemns Hinduphobic Professor Priyamvada Gopal's Hinduphobic Statements

Cambridge University academic Prof Priyamvada Gopal has asked the Western countries to "block the naturalisation for Hindus".

The Cambridge Hindu Society on Wednesday (September 8) condemned the Hinduphobic statements of Cambridge University academic Prof Priyamvada Gopal.

"On behalf of Cambridge University Hindu Cultural Society (CUHCS), we would like to express our discontent with and condemnation of the recent words of the Cambridge academic, Priyamvada Gopal," read the statement issued by CUHCS.

It added, "The Cambridge University academic, Priyamvada Gopal, recently referred to Hindus as "sickos" in a tweet and expressed her wish that Western countries should "block naturalisation for Hindus." She further, sickeningly, joked and mocked the memorial commemorating the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, making light of the mass slaughter of peaceful protestors in Amritsar during the British colonial occupation of India."

The Society said Cambridge is a place that should be free from any form of bigotry and intolerance as it's home to students of multiple faiths and walks of life.

It accused Prof Priyamvada Gopal of creating an environment of fear and intolerance on the campus. "Following the recent scandal at Oxford University, there has been a recent rise in anti-Hindu sentiment on our campuses, and particularly within academia itself. Hinduphobia will not be tolerated," the statement read.

"Really am at the point where I would like to invite Western countries to block naturalisation for Hindus. Snatch their precious little H-1Bs. Sickos," Prof Priyamvada Gopal posted on Twitter.

As reported by the Organiser, netizens expressed deep shock over Cambridge University professor's Hinduphobia and asked if this is the official position of Cambridge University.

"Why does @Cambridge_Uni promote such Hatemongers and #Hindupobic liars, of low accomplishment like @PriyamvadaGopal? Shocking promotion of racial hatred @BorisJohnson @10DowningStreet @PMOIndia @HCI_London Is this official attitude of CU?" posted Mohandas Pai.

Renowned author Hindol Sengupta posted on Twitter, "A textbook case of Hinduphobia. See that she is talking about ALL Hindus. This exact sentence said about ANY other community would lead to immediate expulsion from the same university. That this is, instead, cheered shows how deep the roots of hatred and loathing for Hindus go."

He added, "It must be asked, how can the numerous Hindu students on the campus of this university ever feel safe with such a person belching out such hatred? Why is this question not being asked by the parents and students who pay tens of thousands of pounds for their education?"

About the claim that she was the granddaughter of Dr. S Radhakrishnan, Sengupta posted, "The hilarious, revealing thing I heard after tweeting about (below), is that this person was falsely proclaimed as Dr. Radhakrishnan's granddaughter! Indians, British, are so class-conscious that ppl fell for it! The scientist @GautamDesiraju from the same family told me this is fake."

She is getting funds in her pockets now. It is quite clear that the sudden hate-mongering on Hindus is not a coincidence. They are funding academics to push their narrative. You see this is the kind of world we live in, some humans are paying another set of humans large sum to start hatred against a community of humans.
