Former Indian Fast-bowler and bowling Coach Venkatesh Prasad on Sunday, June 13, lashed out at an Australian journalist CJ Werlaman for bringing ‘Hindutva’ angle to ICC test championship final.
The Australian journalist on Twitter backed New Zealand for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Final. Soon it caught the attention of Former pace-bowler Venkatesh Prasad, who lashed out at him and called his thinking miserable.
CJ Werlaman tweeted, “I’m rooting for New Zealand in the ICC Test Championship Final because imagining 500 million Hindutva extremists being happy, even for a second, makes me miserable”.
Slamming the journalist on Twitter, Venkatesh Prasad said that “whoever wins is fine, but what a sad, low and miserable life this man is. The fact that this man is given an opportunity to write in publications speaks poorly of the publications. Get well soon Mr Miserable”, he wrote.
As soon as Ventakesh Prasad called out the journalist, netizens backed him and assured him that Team India would not only win the WTC Final but also against the bigotry.
It is to be noted that Australian journalist is notorious for making controversial remarks for publicity.
The high-octane World Test Championship Final will see India and New Zealand compete to establish their authority in the purest format of the game. The historic WTC Final will take place in Southampton from June 18.
