US President Joe Biden has warned of another terror attack at the Kabul airport in the next 24-36 hours. He has also assessed that the situation on the ground continues to be extremely dangerous.
"The threat of terrorist attacks on the airport remains high. Our commanders informed me that an attack is highly likely in the next 24-36 hours. directed them to take every possible measure to prioritize force protection, and ensured that they have all the authorities, resources and plans to protect our men and women on the ground," Biden said in a statement.
Biden's statement comes in the wake of a drone strike that the US conducted in war-torn Afghanistan on Saturday, killing two high-profile ISIS-K targets directly involved in the Kabul suicide attack. "They were ISIS-K planners and facilitators. That's enough reason there alone," said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
