The stated aim of repealing obsolete laws is to promote ‘ease of doing business’ and ‘ease of living’ in the state.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Monday chaired the review meeting about repealing obsolete laws in the state and asked the concerned departments to speed up repealing 675 obsolete laws.
The government aims to attract more investment in the state and generate jobs.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had reiterated in the past that lives and livelihoods were equally important for his administration, signaling the government’s intention to promote industries in the state.
In the past eight months, the government has identified 675 compliances burdens that should be repealed. The first phase of repealing is already underway and, the second phase will start in August.
Most of the obsolete laws are concerned with Labour, environment, Panchayati Raj, Primary education, Home, Finance, Revenue, and Handloom.
Recently, Samsung shifted its manufacturing operations from China to Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
