Will Seek India's Help if Administration Fails to Cooperate, Says PML(N) Leader in PoK

Choudhary Muhammad Ismail Gujjar, a candidate in the provincial elections in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir, is a prominent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, the party of former Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Accusing the Pakistani administration in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir of discrimination against PML-N candidates in the ongoing provincial elections, PML-N leader Choudhary Muhammad Ismail Gujjar said he would seek India's help if the administration did not cooperate.

He and other opposition parties accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government of Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi of rigging the elections.

The People's Party of Pakistan's Vice-President Senator Sherry Rehman blamed the Imran Khan Niazi government for systematic rigging and said Pakistan's Union government was attempting to steal the elections.

Massive violence and of rigging had marred the provincial elections in PoK.

The voting for the provincial legislative polls ended Sunday (July 25) evening, and results are expected Monday (July 26).

Gujjar alleged that the rigging and violence were happening with the active support of the local administration in the directions of the Imran Khan Niazi government.

He also alleged his party workers were beaten and asked to leave, and his party's camps were dismantled in police presence.

"You can run away with the ballot box or sit in the box yourself. You can try to stop us (but you won't be able to)," PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif had earlier warned Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi.
