The idols of Kamakshi Amman and Maa Durga were found disrobed and defiled at Panchalingeshwara temple in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, which is a 1,500-year-old Shiva temple.
In an unbelievable and shocking turn of events, idols in the 1500-years-old Panchalingeshwara temple in Kondapuram village in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, were found to be disrobed and defiled. The miscreants had ejaculated semen on the defiled idols and burnt the goddess's clothes.
The matter came to light when temple priest Ravi went to open the temple on the morning of June 20. He was shocked to find the locks of Kamakshi Amman and Durga sannidhis broken and idols disrobed.
The clothes of the goddesses were burnt, and the miscreants had ejaculated semen on the idols and the burnt clothes.
This is the third incident in the temple in the past few weeks.
Hindu Munnani and VHP cadres are demanding the authorities arrest the culprits at the earliest.
The Hindu Post reported there are some neo converts and members of the VCK party living nearby the Panchalingeshwara temple. The VCK chief Thirumavalavan had organised a conference ‘Uproot Sanatana Dharma’. The ruling DMK had participated in the conference.
Thirumavalavan, who had expressed his anti-Hindu sentiment on several occasions, had also called for the demolition of Hindu temples like Chidambaram. He had said they were Buddhist temples earlier.
The temple is under the control of the HRCE (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments) department of the Tamil Nadu Government. But HRCE officials have refused to visit the temple.
