Moplah Riots Were a Manifestation of Talibani Mindset, Says Ram Madhav

The Moplah anti-Hindu riots of the 1921 rebellion were one of the first manifestations of the Taliban mindset in India, said Ram Madhav. The Leftist historians have always tried to project it as a peasant movement.

Ram Madhav inaugurated the Mapilla (Moplah) Riots Martyrs Remembrance’ program today (August 19) at Kozhikode in Kerala.

He posted on Twitter “Inaugurated the year-long ‘Mapilla (Moplah) Riots Martyrs Remembrance’ program at Kozhikode today. Dr C V Anand Bose, Former Addl CS, Kerala Govt; Retd Judge Shanti Kumari & Prof. C I Issac were also present. The event was held semi-virtually due to Covid virulence in Kerala.”

Today the world’s attention is shifted to the brutalities of the Taliban in Afghanistan, but for India, it was “not a new story” as this Taliban mindset, born out of certain fundamentalist radical Islamist ideology, first manifested here in the form of the Moplah rebellion and as the media presence back then was not what it was now, the atrocities committed then were not widely publicised, said Ram Madhav.

He added that the Left government in Kerala was trying to whitewash what happened then and was celebrating it as a communist revolution against the British and the bourgeois by encouraging the production of films that showcase the rebellion’s leaders as “heroes”.

The Left governments and historians made every attempt to present Moplah anti-Hindu riots as a revolt against the British and Zamindars.
