“Never in my long career in politics, I witnessed political violence on such a large scale,” said Suvendu Adhikari.
Adhikari had defeated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram in just-concluded assembly polls.
He also added that people of a particular community were being targeted.
The Trinamool Congress cadre have been attacking the BJP and RSS workers all across the state. More than 20 BJP members have lost their lives.
In her campaign speeches too, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had threatened the BJP members.
The Governor Jagdeep Dhankar had earlier summoned the state DGP and the Kolkata Police Commissioner to the Raj Bhawan and had asked them to take measures to check the violence.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Governor and enquired about the political violence in the state. The Union Home Ministry asked for a report form the state government.
The senior TMC leadership is happy cherry picking some random fake news and threatening journalists who are reporting the violence.
Senior Trinamool MP Derek O’Brien threatened India Today Executive Editor Deep Halder for reporting about the political violence.
Another TMC MP Mahua Moitra too tried to whitewash the violence by terming it fake news spread by the BJP.
