The militants attacked a CRPF team in the Lawaypora area of Srinagar district. Four CRPF jawans were injured in the attack. The officials have confirmed the martyrdom of two Jawan. The remaining two are undergoing treatment. After the attack, a search operation was launched to surround the entire area. The intention was to apprehend terrorists who attacked the patrolling team.
According to information, the CRPF team was deployed in the Lawaypora area. Only then did the terrorists came in a vehicle, and they attacked the Jawans stationed at the Chowk. They started firing in which four Jawans were injured. After attacking CRPF jawans, the terrorists fled from the spot. There was an atmosphere of panic after this attack in that locality. The injured Jawans were shifted to 92 base hospital for treatment. But one more Jawan was martyred during the treatment.
“Terrorists attacked the soldiers in Lawaypora, on outskirts of Srinagar. Four CRPF jawans were injured in the attack and the injured personnel were shifted to 92 base hospital. Two personnel succumbed to their injuries,” CRPF spokesman said.
The martyred soldiers have been identified as SI Manga Ram Dev and Barman and Ct Ashok Kumar.
As per the Police statement, the militants are being identified through CCTV and the vehicle number too. This kind of attack has happened in Srinagar after Several months. The condition of the two Jawans remains in danger.
