National seminar on the writing of Bharatiya Itihash on Bharatiya Perspective by BISS Assam.
Guwahati: Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti Assam, in association with the Indian Council of Historical Research New Delhi, conducted a one-day national level Seminar on “ Writing of Bharatiya itihasa with Bharatiya Perspective” recently. Dr. Subhajit Choudhury was the organiser of the workshop on behalf of BISS Assam. Professor Sudeshna Bharttacharjya moderated the inaugural session, whereas Dr. Juri Sarma and Dr. Ankita Dutta moderated the Technical Session I and II, respectively.
Dr. Balmukun Pandey, organising Secretary Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana had inaugurated the workshop. Pandey said that it is time to write the itihas of Bharat with Bharatiya perspective to make this nation a world leader. Dr. Santosh Kumar Shukla, Dean, School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies Jawaharlal Nehru University, one of the resource persons, spoke on Sanskrit in Itihas lekhan in which he categorically mentioned that one should know Sanskrit to know Bharatiya History.
He also mentioned three Indian languages, specifically Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, which are the base of Indian history. Without knowing these languages, the life and soul of Bharatiya itihas cannot be explored. Prof. Mahaveer Prasad Jain, an eminent Historian, narrated how Bharatiya itihas has been destroyed from 1780 to 1947 during the British raj and post-independent period by pseudo-secular liberals who are the product of Allahabad and Aligarh university.
The product of these universities who deliberately destroyed the Indian value system amongst them are Md. Habib, Ifran Habib, Romila Thapar, Bipin Chandra, Tara Chand and many more. Dr. Om Jee Upadhyay, Director ICHR, has narrated the paradigm shift of Writing of Ithihas and approaching Bharat as Biswaguru. The various works, such as Revival of Saraswati River Civilisation, Derecognition of Aryan Invasion, theory are the example of the paradigm shift of Bharatiya Itihas writing.
Lastly, Prof. Srinivasan Kalyanaraman, an eminent scientist on Saraswati river excavation work, has narrated how Saraswati was flowing the maritime life of that time and plan to revive the Saraswati river. The workshop concluded with the address of Prof. Dilip Kumar Phukan, President Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti Assam.
