After being in denial about the presence of Jihadi sleeper cells in Kerala, the state’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has finally confessed that around 100 Malayalees joined the Islamic State until 2019. Out of the 100, around 28 went directly from Kerala. Giving a breakdown of numbers, the CM said that only 5 out of 28 are Muslim converts.
Kerala is a state having a larger network of Islamic fundamentalists. Recently, a statement made by Pala Bishop had triggered a massive controversy about the presence of ‘Love Jihad’ and ‘Narcotic Jihad’ in the state.
The Chief Minister’s statement comes at a time when the statement made by the Pala Bishop received support from various sections of society.
