Islamist Organisation Raza Academy Demands Action Against Netflix for Depicting Verses from Quran in a Poster

Mumbai based rabid Islamist organisation Raza Academy has demanded action against OTT platform Netflix for releasing a promotional poster for one of its web series with verses of the Quran inscribed on it.

Raza Academy posted on microblogging platform Twitter “Netflix has published a verse of the Quran in the advertisement of its film NavaRasa in Daily Thanthi newspaper
معاز اللہ This is an insult to the Quran. We demand strict action against @NetflixIndia.”

The poster was published in the newspaper Daily Thanthi.

It has demanded a ban on Netflix, NavaRasa and Daily Thanthi.

It has also warned of dangerous consequences if the demands are not met.

NavaRasa is a Tamil web series of nine episodes produced by legendary producer & director Mani Ratnam.

The Raza Academy said quoting verses from the Quran was an insult to the Quran and it would not be accepted.

The webseries was released on Netflix on Friday (August 6).

The organisation promotes a very conservative and radical version of Islam.

Netflix has not responded to the threat yet.
