A youth was reportedly beaten to death in a mob attack after an alleged ‘sacrilege attempt’ at Golden Temple in Amritsar on Saturday.
According to reports, 'sangat and sewadars' of the Golden Temple killed the man after he allegedly barged into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
The incident occurred at 5.45 pm. According to The Tribune News Service, the man managed to jump over the metal grills, behind which the 'parkash' of Guru Granth Sahib is there.
'Sangat and Sewadars' caught him and took him to the office of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) office. Reports suggest that he was brutally thrashed at the SGPC office. Later, the SGPC president confirmed that the intruder was killed.
