Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) is an ally of Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Its National General Secretary Arun Rajbhar threatened to thrash DD News anchor Ashok Shrivastav.

The national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party ally in Uttar Pradesh Sunday (January 30) threatened to thrash DD News anchor Ashok Shrivastav.

Shri Shrivastav had condemned the thrashing of a journalist by the security personnel of Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Ghaziabad on Saturday (January 29).

This condemnation did not go well with Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) National General Secretary Arun Rajbhar. Replying to Shri Shrivastav on microblogging platform Twitter, Arun Rajbhar posted “Journalists like you should also be thrashed.” He further abused Shri Shrivastav.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was interacting with journalists in Ghaziabad on Saturday (January 29). A TV journalist tried to ask Shri Akhilesh Yadav a few questions after the press conference. This angered his security personnel so much that they started thrashing the journalist. The victim kept crying to stop the thrashing but the security personnel did not relent. All this happened in front of Shri Akhilesh Yadav.

In his Twitter post, Shri Shrivastav had condemned this thrashing incident which angered Arun Rajbhar.

Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has developed special scorn for journalists. In the last six months alone, he has mocked journalists multiple times and had picked fights with anchors in live TV shows.

In the live conclave of TV9 on Thursday (January 27), Shri Akhilesh Yadav got angry after TV9 reporter Abhishek Upadhyay repeatedly asked him questions about ticket distribution of the Samajwadi Party and how he would ensure better law & order if elected to power.

“This is the last time I’m appearing for any interview on this channel. After today, I’ll never appear in any programme of this channel”, Shri Akhilesh Yadav said.

In a similar programme of Hindi news channel Aaj Tak on January 10 in Lucknow, Shri Akhilesh Yadav was constantly mocking senior Editor Anjana Om Kashyap. After some time, Editor Kashyap got angry and asked him not to mock her and answer the questions.

After the constant mocking, Editor Kashyap said, “Those would be different people who would take mocking from you. I won’t tolerate this…you might be a big leader of Samajwadi Party but you have no right to humiliate me.”

In March last year, Shri Akhilesh Yadav mocked journalist in a press conference saying “You’re working for the BJP. Stop working for the BJP.” The ‘mistake’ journalist had committed was asking question in a simple tone.

Shri Yadav himself scolded the journalist saying “Han mara to…(Yes, beat up, so what?).” The video of this incident had gone viral on different social media platforms.
