RSS Swayamsevak Sanjith was travelling with his wife and one-year-old kid when Islamists hit his bike with their car and stabbed him many times until they confirmed he was dead.
"The recent targeted killing of RSS Swayasevak A Sanjith is very unfortunate and highly deplorable. We strongly condemn this act of terror and firmly stand by the family of the deceased," said RSS Sah-Sarkaryavah Dr Manmohan Vaidya. Along with other senior functionaries, he was visiting the family members of Sanjith at Palakkad, Kerala.
"It's very pathetic that the democratically elected state government of Kerala has failed to prevent such targeted killings. Since it's evident from the previous experiences that there's a tacit understanding between the ruling CPM and Islamist forces in the targeted killing of Swayamsevaks, we demand a fair investigation in this matter and the perpetrators of violence should be booked and punished at the earliest," Dr Manmohan Vaidya said in a statement issued after the meeting.
"We demand Central Govt to intervene in the matter if justice is not delivered under the CPM Govt. We also demand a detailed NIA probe into the murder of Sanjith as the perpetrators have terrorist links. We urge both the state and central government to further investigate the terrorist connections and anti national activities of PFI and ban this terrorist outfit which works with the sole aim to destroy the communal harmony and peace in society," he added.
The brutal murder of RSS Teneri Mandal Baudhik Pramukh Sanjith on November 15, at 9 am in Mambram Palakkad, was part of a well-orchestrated plot. Earlier, there were multiple attempts to kill Sanjith, and police had arrested four PFI-SDPI terrorists in connection with this incident. Even after the last attempt on his life, there was information that Islamists continued to target Sanjith. A few weeks ago, some unknown people had reportedly gathered his location information. After this incident, anticipating a possible attempt on his life, Sanjith had moved to his wife's house. However, the assailants tracked his new location. This indicates that multiple persons were constantly following his movements intending to assassinate Sanjith.
According to Arshika, the wife of Sanjith, immediately after they left home around 8.45-9 am, four to five persons in a car stopped their bikes. One of the assailants pushed her away from Sanjith and held her tightly. Others hacked Sanjith multiple times using swords and other weapons after pushing him to the road. Arshika cried and pleaded to the assailants not to attack her husband, but they didn't pay heed to her.
According to reports, there were 31 deep wounds in the body of Sanjith that caused his death. His body was fully mutilated when a city police officer travelling on that road saw him and took him to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw. The assailants chose an isolated place to attack him. How he was killed, and the modus of Operandi indicate that the assailants are trained criminals to perform such acts of terror. One can also identify a pattern in this incident and some other previous incidents connected with PFI or its political wing SDPI.
Condemning the heinous murder, RSS state leaders and BJP state president said SDPI was behind the attack. The attack was premeditated and well-planned. In Kerala, the ruling CPIM and PFI are working hand in hand, and the murder was perpetrated with the silent support of the ruling LDF government. There is a tacit understanding of CPIM and SDPI. Due to this unholy alliance, police failed to prevent the murder. The investigation of this case was also not conducted properly, they said. Later, the BJP state chief K. Surendran met the Kerala governor and requested him to direct the state government to hand over the case to NIA, considering a pattern in recent murders and a possible terrorist angle attached to it. According to Surendran, this was the second murder of RSS workers in fifteen days in Kerala, and the agencies must bring out the conspiracy behind these murders.
The 27-year-old Sanjith was survived by his wife Arshika and 11-month old son Rudra Keshav and his parents. According to his friends and co-workers in the organisation, he was a very active and energetic person. He was always at the forefront of all organisational activities in his area, Ealappully. For some time, the Islamist organisations have been trying to gain control in this area, sources said. Immediately after the murder of Sanjith, the Islamists started a hate campaign against him using their social media handles. The social media posts were aimed to assassinate the character of Sanjith to justify the brutal murder.
