Amir Chand, Rashtriya Mahamantri of Sanskar Bharti, passed away on Saturday (October 16) in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
Pracharak and Rashtriya Mahamantri of Sanskar Bharti, Amir Chand, passed away on Saturday (October 16) evening in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. He was in Tawang for official work.
Because of the height of Tawang and the adverse weather condition, he suddenly developed breathing difficulty. He was rushed to a hospital but couldn't be saved.
Condolence messages started pouring in from all corners.

The National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, J P Nadda, expressed his condolence. He posted “संस्कार भारती के राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री आदरणीय अमीरचंद जी के असामयिक निधन का समाचार अत्यंत दुःखद है। कला और संस्कृति के संरक्षण और विकास में उनका अतुलनीय योगदान सदैव स्मरणीय रहेगा।

J Nandakumar, the national convener of Prajna Pravah, said, "Amir Chanda Ji relentlessly worked for instilling nationalistic values in art and culture. In a rare patriotic initiative, he took a galaxy of artists and musicians to border areas across the country and organised performances as a special tribute to our armed forces."
He added, "With significant contribution to the fraternity of artists, under the banner of Sanskar Bharati, he marked his public life as an organiser par excellence."
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote “संस्कार भारती के अखिल भारतीय महामंत्री श्री अमीर चन्द जी का निधन दुःखद है।
लोक जीवन में राष्ट्रीय मूल्यों के बीजारोपण हेतु वे आजीवन समर्पित रहे।
प्रभु श्री राम से प्रार्थना है कि दिवंगत पुण्यात्मा को श्री चरणों में स्थान व शोकाकुल विचार परिवार को दुःख सहने की शक्ति दें।“

Amir Chand worked tirelessly to ensure the artists get financial support to survive.
Keeping in mind the struggle of artists of various art genres, Amir Chand organised 'Peer Parai Jaane Re' during the second wave of Covid in the country. It was a virtual event in which the eminent artists of the country's art, literature, music, dance and cinema made their presentation and appealed to society to help the needy artists.
Shri Pandit Birju Maharaj, Amjad Ali Khan, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Subhash Ghai, Akshay Kumar, Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Rajendra Gangani, Nagraj Havaldar, Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Anupam Kher, Ms. Kavita Seth, Kapil Sharma, Prasoon Joshi, Daler Mehndi, Mikka Singh, Ms. Madhu Shree, Anup Jalota, Prakash Jha, Suresh Wadekar, Mrs. Madhu Tailang, Mrs. Anuradha Paudwal, Hansraj Hanj, Vasifuddin Dagar, Anwar Khan participated in the event which discussed challenges in the art field and the struggle of artists presided over leading artists of various art disciplines.
The National General Secretary of the BJP, BL Santhosh, paid tribute writing "Sri Amirchandji, Pracharak, National GS of Samskara Bharati who was on tour of Tawang breathed his last due to adverse weather conditions. He was a torchbearer of nationalism in cultural field. He hails from Balian, UP. Pray god for Sadgati to departed soul."
One of the great initiatives of Amir Chand's was 'Sarhad Ko Swaranjali', a programme to commemorate the completion of 50 years of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar's eternal song Aye mere watan ke logon…, The song became a landmark event in modern India's patriotic history, which helped fill the emotional hazards followed by the tragic consequences of the 1962 War. The programme was the first of its kind to felicitate the martyrs' families.
Smt Leela Devi, mother of martyr Jaswant Singh Rawat, the brave soldier of 1962 Indo-China War, saluted her own martyr son and along with her were the mothers of Kirti Chakra Shaheed NK Tape Yajo and Shaheed Patey Tassuk and the brother of Shaheed Tagom Taki, also offered homage to their martyred kin in the presence of tens of thousands emotional gathering from the whole North-east India.
Bollywood star 'Shaktimaan' fame Mukesh Khanna, Lt. Gen. VM Patil, who was posted in Arunachal during 1962 War, Padmashree Bini Yanga, eminent social worker, Padmashree G Gourkishor Sharma, for promoting Manipuri Thang-ta martial art, Shri Kipa Babu, Deputy Chairman, Itanagar Municipal Corporation, senior RSS Pracharak Shri Indresh Kumar and many other dignitaries were present on occasion.
