According to the data released by the Kerala government, more Christians from Dalit backgrounds are reconverting to Hinduism. The report states that 166 Christians converted to Hinduism from January 2021 to June 2021, while 15 Muslims also left their religion to join Hinduism.
A total of 211 Christians left their religion in the above mentioned period; 45 of them Joined Islam. More than half of the Christians who converted to Islam are men.
