Seva Bharatihas made full preparations to face any adverse situation and has prepared 10,000-metre long rope for carrying out rescue operations.

Kerala faced one of the biggest floods in its history in 2018. There has been flooding in various parts of Kerala every year, even after 3-4 days of continuous rain. Kerala is home to 44 rivers and has a rainy season in abundance. The state is facing a natural disaster in the form of a flood this year. Seva Bharati has been the frontiers of rescue operations in every natural disaster that has struck Kerala. Seva Bharati has prepared itself for the flood-like situation that occurs in Kerala.

The shutters of Kerala’s largest dam in Idukki were opened up following the prediction of heavy rainfall in the subsequent days. With the water reaching Ernakulam district, Seva Bharati had made full preparations to face any adverse situation. A 40-member strong team of Seva Bharati has been stationed near the banks of Aluva lake on a full-time basis. They are equipped with four boats and four ambulances stationed near the river banks.

In case of flooding in the area, Seva Bharati has prepared 10,000-metre long rope for carrying out rescue operations. These ropes are tied to the trees so that these ropes can be used to help people from remote places. All Seva Bharati volunteers who are at the forefront of rescue operations are specially trained in disaster management. If the flood situation worsens, Seva Bharati has informed that more volunteers and boats will be made available.
