According to Koraput Police, Gangi joined the Maoist organisation in 2005. She was involved in seven violent incidents. She worked with Machhkund and Guma area committee.
Likewise, Gita Padiami, alias Rajita, was originally from Chhattishgarh, and she joined the banned outfit in 2018. She was involved in 4 violent incidents.
DGP Abhay welcomed the surrendered Maoists into the mainstream. He also appealed to other Maoists to shun violence and join civil society.
“Koraput police have done a commendable job in facilitating Maoist surrenders in the past. The Odisha Government has a very attractive rehabilitation policy and I urge all the Maoists to take advantage of the policy and join the mainstream,” the DGP added.
