Guwahati: Assam Governor professor Jagdish Mukhi, while visiting Kalyani Niwas at Rupnagar locality in the city on Tuesday, emphasized on educating the girls so that they can contribute to the growth of the nation. Spending time with the girls taking shelter there, Governor Mukhi opined that a girl-child should be given utmost priority to provide her with the opportunity for education.

Professor Mukhi also said that childhood is the most formative period of one’s life. Therefore, all efforts should be taken to ensure that children enjoy their childhood.
