Turkey has been in an economic crisis because of the corona pandemic and is already home to 3.6 million Syrian and 3,00,000 Afghan refugees.
Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged the European countries to take responsibility of Afghan refugees.
He said Turkey had no responsibility of becoming "Europe's migrant storage unit".
Erdogan also said that there had been a surge in migration into the country from the Iran border.
In a televised address on Thursday (August 19) after a cabinet meeting, Erdogan said he could engage in talks with Talian after the government formation for the stability and security of the country.
Turkey has been facing a severe economic crisis, high unemployment because of coronavirus, and there is an anti-migrant sentiment in Turkey as it is home to 5 million foreign nationals, including 3.6 million Syrian refugees, who fled Syria during the civil war and 3,00,000 Afghans.
Ever since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, people have been flooding other countries. While India and several countries are taking in them as refugees, Turkey is building a wall on the Iran border to stop the migration.
