The activities of the Ambedkar Chair at Calicut University in Kerala were stalled due to the unavailability of funds and taking note of the issue, BJP has demanded the Governor of Kerala to intervene in the ongoing crisis. Kerala SC Morcha state president Shajumon Vattekkattu has slammed the government for not allocating funds to the Ambedkar Chair.
“While all the other chairs are functioning smoothly, why only Ambedkar chair is facing such financial problem?” Shajumon asked. He also accused the university of insulting DR B R Ambedkar's legacy. “The state government is fully subsidising the chairs related to people from the minority community, what makes them vary of Dr Ambedkar? This exposes CPM’s anti-Dalit attitude”, Shajumon added.
BJP has also demanded the state government to give full funds for the functioning of the Ambedkar chair.
