Volunteers of LK Advani Communications Office conduct field campaign

A team of about 30-40 volunteers of LK Advani Communications Office campaigned in the New Delhi region for the party. The volunteers, who have been managing the website www.lkadvani.in and are involved in other micro-campaigns such as Advani @ Campus, moved from one location to another spreading the message of the party to different segments of the society.

On the second day of field campaigning they started with a visit to the Christian colony at North Campus. The group, comprising of young professional volunteers from all parts of the country, was headed by Shri Sudhindra Kulkarni, National Secretary of the BJP. The enthusiastic team, all decked in ?Advani for PM? T-shirts, handed out manifesto highlights to everyone they met on their trail. The group then went to the Arts Faculty campus of Delhi University. Once at the campus, the volunteers visited the canteen and the library where they interacted with several hundred students explaining to them why BJP is the choice for the youth. Shri Kulkarni addressed the 200-odd student gathering and drew their attention to pertinent issues such as economic downturn and job-losses that have been rampant during the current UPA regime. He also talked about the party?s vision for Young India, specifically mentioning initiatives under the IT vision and the infrastructure vision that the party came out with recently. Shri Kulkarni also answered some questions put to him by his young audience.

After the interaction with students, the team moved to a completely different audience ? the inhabitants of a small village called Mukhmelpur on the outskirts of Delhi. A large audience comprising of village elders and youth greeted the volunteers enthusiastically. Shri Kulkarni was also felicitated by the villagers who were very excited to have him amongst them. In his address, Shri Kulkarni stressed on BJP?s commitment to India?s farmers. He said, ?India?s development should be evaluated by the success of its farmers who comprise 70 per cent of its population today.? He also talked about the various rural initiatives that the party has planned if it comes to power. Giving a shining example of Gujarat, he said that it was indeed possible to bring prosperity to the villages and the party is committed to the same.

The group then moved to Khan Market and M Block market in Greater Kailash ? I in New Delhi and went around interacting with shopkeepers and traders. The traders drew the team?s attention to the irony of power-cuts in Delhi markets. Shri Kulkarni, speaking to them, highlighted how BJP has been successful in providing uninterrupted power to villages in Gujarat. After moving around the market area, the volunteers broke for the day bringing a long day to an end?a day which saw them meeting students, villagers, shoppers and traders.
