Earlier, Hakim has raked up controversy for terming a part of Kolkata as ‘Mini Pakistan’. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also people to gherao the security forces in one of her campaign speeches. Immediately after, five people were killed in Coochbehar when CISF personnel on duty fired in self-defense after more than 300 TMC supporters gheraoed the CISF personnel on poll duty. In the viral video, Hakim could be seen using expletives for the BJP workers as well as the security forces. Five of the eight phases of the voting are already over in the state. The counting of votes will start on May 2.
