What a chief minister is typically expected to do? Make arrangements to fulfil the demand.
After getting a rap on the knuckles from the Delhi High Court, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal did the course correction by doing two things immediately.
First he tweeted informing the people that he had written letters to every chief minister asking for medical Oxygen.
Second, he issued advertisements in the press all over the country asking people that the Delhi government needed cryogenic tanks to carry Oxygen.
Whatever be your medium of news consumption and wherever you’re consuming news, you can’t escape Arvind Kejriwal’s advertisement.
Many still find it difficult to understand how you could get cryogenic tanks by advertising in the newspapers.
Recently, a news clip where a Delhi doctor was seen criticising the Arvind Kejriwal government for not providing the medical Oxygen was deleted from the social media accounts of the news channel.
Delhi is facing a huge shortage of beds with the sudden spike in the number of Covid-19 patients.
Sardar Patel Covid Care Centre in Chhattarpur was made operational by the Union government with the help from Radha Soami Sastang Beas and the ITBP.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inspected the centre on Monday and did a press conference on the spot, giving the impression that he was the one who was behind starting the centre.
The Union government had provided him the money to establish eight Oxygen generation plants and concentrators about a year back. But he just sat on the proposal.
The Kejriwal government is expected to touch INR 500 crores in advertisement bills this year.
