Three members of a polio vaccination team were killed in two separate incidents in Afghanistan. The incident took place today in the provincial capital Jalalabad on the second day of a nationwide polio vaccination campaign for an estimated 9.2 million children below the age of 5.
Provincial police chief Jumagul Hemat said that one member of the team was killed in Police District four of the provincial capital of Jalalabad. The other two deaths took place in the city’s Police District seven.
The provincial administration’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
