The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested one Raju Ansari for allegedly raping a 17-year-old Dalit girl and pressurising her to change her religion.
Both, Raju and the victim, belong to the Fatehpur district in Uttar Pradesh.
Various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act have been invoked, the police said.
The incident happened in the house of Ansari where he took the victim Friday night.
Police rescued the victim on Saturday, March 13.
