On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi, which is being celebrated as National Youth Day, University of Hyderabad (HCU) unveiled a wooden portrait of Swami Vivekananda in the newly constructed Amenities centre which was recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India Shri. Venkaiah Naidu. The amenity centre is named as “VIVEKANANDA STUDENTS AMENITIES CENTRE”. After the recent unveiling of a statue of Swami Vivekananda at JNU, now HCU is also witnessing a change through the nationalistic sphere. The student community of HCU waited for long to make this happened. From the very beginning, the ABVP unit of HCU demanded the administration to name amenities centre after Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda, who talked on Man-Making Education, Man-Making Theories and Man-Making Religions should be commemorated at any cost. The best places to do so are the academic institutions where the youth’s character is moulded. In his point of view, this type of education has the capacity for the social regeneration of Indian society because it was supposed to have the potential of purging the human mind of mental decadence, i.e., the tendency towards ignorance, laziness and a resigned attitude which accepts anything that is prescribed without personal reflection. This is the learning we should inherit from the University spaces.

Let the Academic spaces gets vibrated by Swami Vivekananda’s ideas and thoughts. Let our Universities can produce hundreds of Vivekananda’s in the coming future. With the nationalist ethos that the cult of Swami Vivekananda brings to the public sphere, let us hope that certain universities, usually in news for being breeding ground for break-India forces also takes a big U-Turn to the Right Path.
