In a huge victory to the police and security forces, 25 Maoists have surrendered at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh. This is yet another victory to the campaign run by the security forces to encourage the Maoists to lay down their arms and surrender. The surrender ceremony was held in the presence of the Superintendent of Police of Dantewada on Wednesday July 8.

A Maoist couple who surrendered at the ceremony were involved in several attacks on the CRPF and Police convoys including the attack near NMDC.
According to the information provided to the media by the police, many more Maoists in Dantewada have already surrendered recently before the District Superintendent of Police, District Collector and CRPF DIG. The CRPF DIG said that he would help those Maoists who have surrendered to get jobs as per their skills.
