Padma Shri awardee, 3 time Olympian, Arjuna awardee and archery legend Limba Ram has been suffering from a rare neuro-degenerative disease due to which his speech and movements have been restricted for over 2 years now. As his condition deteriorated he was admitted to the AIIMS in New Delhi in May 2019. Despite best efforts of the doctors his condition continued to degenerate.
Doctors have said that though this condition cannot be cured completely it can be controlled. Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Archery Association of India (AAI) have been very helpful to the family and have done their best. But the continuous medical treatment costs a lot which his family cannot afford. With bills running into laks of Rupees, Limba Ram's family was running from pillar to post to arrange the funds.
Fortunately, the condition of Limba Ram which was reported in many newspapers was noted by Shubhang Arora, Executive Director of Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital situated in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. He immediately requested his Clinical Director Dr. Rahul Shukla to arrange for the suitable treatment of Limba Ram, the cost of which will be completely borne by the hospital.
