Archery legend, ace Olympian, Arjuna awardee, Padma Shri Limba Ram is suffering from a rare neuro-degenerative disease
Padma Shri awardee, 3 time Olympian, Arjuna awardee and archery legend Limba Ram has been suffering from a rare neuro-degenerative disease due to which his speech and movements have been restricted for over 2 years now. As his condition deteriorated he was admitted to the AIIMS in New Delhi in May 2019. Despite best efforts of the doctors his condition continued to degenerate.
Doctors have said that though this condition cannot be cured completely it can be controlled. Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Archery Association of India (AAI) have been very helpful to the family and have done their best. But the continuous medical treatment costs a lot which his family cannot afford. With bills running into laks of Rupees, Limba Ram's family was running from pillar to post to arrange the funds.
Fortunately, the condition of Limba Ram which was reported in many newspapers was noted by Shubhang Arora, Executive Director of Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital situated in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. He immediately requested his Clinical Director Dr. Rahul Shukla to arrange for the suitable treatment of Limba Ram, the cost of which will be completely borne by the hospital.

Shubhang Arora is a graduate of Economics from New York University, USA and has studied at the world-renowned Pathway School. He achievement at a young age won him several accolades. He has experience of working with US President Donald Trump and was also recently honored at the World Economic Forum Davos Switzerland.
Shubhang Arora says that he was moved by the condition of Limba Ram who is the pride of India and has represented India in the Olympics. Limba Ram was suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, issue with his spinal cord and neck bone. A condition on the right side of his brain resulted in the neuro-degenerative disease. Shubhang has expressed that his hospital will take treat Limba Ram free of cost and the required arrangements are being made. The same has been conveyed to Limab Ram's wife Merian Jenny through Chief Executive Officer of Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital Dr. Sunil Dagar. Arrangements to bring him over the hospital are being made.
Dr. Rahul Shukla has informed the media that a team of doctors has been put together for the treatment of Padma Shri Limbaram. The team includes experts like Senior Neurologist Dr. Sumanto Chatterjee, Neuro Surgeon Dr. Rajkumar Senior, Senior Orthopedic Surgeon Amit Sharma, Diabetes Specialist Dr. Amit Chhabra, Senior Physician Doctor Gurinder Jyot Singh among many others.
