Atheeq wanted for killing of RSS worker finally arrested in Mysuru

Kyatamaranahalli Raju, an RSS karyakarta who was opposing the illegal construction of mosque in a residential area in Mysuru was brutally hacked to death in 2016. Mysuru police who were on the look out for the perpetrators for 3 years finally nabbed Atheeq Ahmed alias ‘Timber’ Atheeq 2 days ago.

Mysuru police were finally able to arrest a notorious gangster who was instrumental in killing RSS workers in Mysuru. Recently, police arrested Atheeq Ahmed Sharif alias Atheeq Ahmed alias ‘Timber’ Atheeq, 39, for his role in killing many people. Atheeq who used to stay in Lashkar Mohalla in Mysuru was known to execute murders with minimal clues. He had been giving a chase for police for the last 10 years. Atheeq was the mastermind in killing Hindu leaders.
 
Atheeq had built his team of Muslim youth who would observe the growth of Hindu leaders. Their job was to kill Hindu leaders and creates communal tension. His team's USP was that they would plan in such a way that they would escape from the crime scene with little or no clues. His name had cropped in the murders of right-wing leaders like Shashi Kumar, Ramesh, and Raju and so on. Atheeq and his team had also tried to kill Ashok Pai and Giridhar, top Hindu leaders of Mysuru.

Kyatamaranahalli Raju, an RSS karyakarta who was opposing the illegal construction of mosque in a residential area in Mysuru was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight by Atheeq and his team in 2016. The deceased Raju was standing near a tea stall when five men hacked him to death with lethal weapons. Raju had united the Hindus in various localities of Mysuru in creating awareness on the construction of illegal mosques.
