Indian Army assisted the locals of Samba by providing material and moral support to the civilians who have been affected by heavy cross border firing
Jammu, June 02 (HS): Indian Army in keeping with its tradition of aiding civilians and garnering goodwill assisted the locals of Samba by providing material and moral support to the civilians who had to relocate from the comfort of their homes to the temporary locations due to heavy cross border firing.
The civilians in Samba area have been affected by continuous firing and shelling by Pakistani rangers along the International Border since 15 May and a large number of civilians had to vacate their homes and had moved to safe areas.
The Army has provided those hot meals, drinking water, preliminary medical aid and moral support. The civilians were also sensitized about the ensuing situation and were advised not to panic. They were also advised of the precautionary measures to be taken when faced with such contingency in the future.
