The All India General Assembly of Sanskar Bharati was held at Karnavati in Ahmedabad recently. This special occasion saw the participation of over 225 members and workers of Sanskar Bharti who came from across the country.

This two-day National Executive saw noted painter Vasudev Kamatji being unanimously elected as the National President of Sanskar Bharati. Educationist and culturalist Dr Hemlata S. Mohanji, renowned violinist Shri Mysore Manjunathji, actor Shri Nitish Bhardwajji were nominated as Vice Presidents, while Shri  Ashwin Dalviji will discharge his responsibility of  General Secretary.

Smt Nilanjana Raiji (West Bengal), Shri Chetan Joshiji (Delhi), Shri Ravindra Bedekarji (Nashik) were nominated as Secretaries.

Giving information about the decisions taken in the executive meeting, All India Sanskar Bharati  Sangathan Mantri Abhijit Gokhale said that our work will now be based on presentation as well as discussion. It is noteworthy that before the All India General Assembly, a meeting of the Managing Committee was held on December 3, in which decisions were taken after a thorough deliberation among the members.

While giving his views in the session, Akhil Bharatiya Bouddhik Pramukh of RSS Swant Ranjanji said that our work is divine work, because we have a team of rare and committed workers who give shape to our vision. He stressed the need to conduct various  experiments for self-awareness.

“With special emphasis on the organisation of Amrit Mahotsav of freedom, various programmes have been conceptualised across the country, under which important decisions were taken to awaken political freedom as well as the spirit of Swadharma, Swabhasha and Swadeshi. Various aspects of Indian society's protest against British power should have come before the country, which could not come. We will try to bring them in front of the country through art.”

To awaken Indianness, public awareness will be done by highlighting various art forms. On this occasion, on the 75th anniversary of Independence, under the All India Action Plan, the logo of “From Freedom to Independence” was released. In the inaugural session of the General Assembly, President of Sahitya Akademi Gujarat, Padmashree Vishnu Pandya, comedian  Shahbuddin Rathod, founder of Folk Kala Foundation Zoravar Singh Jadhav and many dignitaries were present.

Last year's report was presented in which it was highlighted that Sankar Bharti through its Peer Parai Jaane Re programme gave financial assistance to folk artists who were affected by lack of work during COVID-19. To commiserate with the plight of 771 artists, Sanskar Bharti disbursed financial grants. Along with this, more than five thousand artists have been assisted in other places across the country as per their need.
