‘Politics for New India: A Nationalistic Perspective’, edited by Shri Shriprakash Singh was released at Nehru Memorial on June 30. The event witnessed the presence of Shri Satyapal Singh, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Shri J Nandkumar, National Convener of Prajna Pravah and Shri Shakti Sinha, Director, Nehru Memorial & library.
The book, a collection of essays, offers different dimensions of Indian Politics with the Nationalistic and Dharmic frame of reference. It challenges the orientalist and colonial narratives in social science, said Satyapal Singh. A novel initiative to decolonise Indian minds, the book also provides an alternative narrative to hegemonic Eurocentric concepts.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri S P Singh said that the book is first of its kind by Prana Pravah study circles and will prove to be a benchmark to Nationalist reference frame.
Prajna Pravah, an organisation working in academia, organised Gyan Sangam in 2016. The decision to launch a series of books was taken in the Gyan Sangam. “After two years of intense research the book is now made available for readers,” said Shri J Nandkumar.
