Gujarat: Beyond the Obvious, a book on Narendra Modi's 72-month rule released Leaders lavish praise on Modi
Former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said it is difficult for a coalition government to deliver and ensure fast paced development.
Releasing a 174-page report on 72 pathbreaking initiatives of the Narendra Modi Government in Gujarat at a function in New Delhi recently, Shri Shekhawat said the Chief Minister had presented a model of good governance that should be followed by others.
As the Modi Government completed 72 months in office, an Ernst report Gujarat: Beyond the Obvious lauded its efforts saying a number of refreshing initiatives by the government have been instrumental in catapulting the state to a global stage. The report highlighted government?s main achievements in the field of good governance, wealth creation, human resource development and wellness.
?I must admit it is difficult to develop any region if it has a coalition government. In such case neither any organisation nor person takes responsibility. It is a problem that should be overcome,? Shri Shekhawat said.
Leader of Opposition Shri L.K. Advani lauded Shri Modi saying, Gujarat was totally different from other states where a sense of negativity often proved a roadblock in the path of development.
?Modiji has set an example for the rest of the nation with the kind of development work he has done in Gujarat,? said Shri L.K. Advani.
The evening at the Taj Mansingh belonged to the Gujarat CM. Stalwarts showered praise on Shri Modi. Former Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie said: ?Everybody has talked. Shri Narendra Modi has done it.?
?The way to Delhi comes from the states now. And Shri Narendra Modi is Prime Minister material,? Shri Shourie added.
Shri Modi speaking at length about the innovative initiatives that his government has taken, said: ?We are working for the development of Gujarat and the nation.?
Seventy two months in office and raring to go for another term, Shri Modi is unfazed with opposition in the home turf. Instead he is now choosing to target a more educated and sophisticated electorate for himself. As though he needs to move on to a bigger stage.
