Countrywide dharna by Kisan Sangh on April 3
FOC
Bharatiya Kisan Sangh has decided to organise dharnas at all district centres across the country on April 3 to protest against the UPA government?s decision to import wheat ignoring the sufficient wheat production in the country. The Kisan Sangh feels that the decision has been taken to benefit the multinational companies and it would further weaken the condition of Indian farmers.
The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, which met in Jabalpur recently, has demanded the UPA government to immediately withdraw the decision of importing wheat and cancel the licence of multinational companies. Addressing the delegates, Shri Sankata Prasad, Kisan Sangh president, said India did not need to import wheat since 1998 and during this period the country even exported wheat to certain countries. The wheat production is satisfactory and the decision to import five-lakh tonnes wheat is totally wrong and anti-Indian farmers. He said over 160 lakh tonnes wheat would be available in the market in this season, which has been priced at Rs 650 per quintal. Whereas the price of the imported wheat has been fixed at Rs 950 per quintal, which smacks of a major scam.
He further said the government had granted licence to several multinational companies to import wheat. These companies purchased the wheat from Indian farmers at lower prices and exported that to Bangladesh and other countries with major benefit. He said the reason of major price hike of wheat prices in India was this purchase by multinational companies. He said the interests of Indian farmers were compromised and hit adversely. Shri Sankta Prasad called upon the Indian farmers to adopt organic farming and use their own seeds, fertilizers as well as develop their own pesticides.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the three-day convention, Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah of RSS, said Shri Guruji believed in individual personality and he always worked for making the nation prosperous. Shri Bhagwat guided the Kisan Sangh workers for all three days.

For Indian a guest is like God
VSK, Chennai
Smt. Selvakumari and Smt. Kalai Selvi, sevikas of Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu, were on their way back after having darshan in a temple. They had covered many kilometers by foot and were naturally tired. Reaching Pattu Thurai, a hamlet on the way, they sat for a while on the anganam (fore-court) of a wayside house. As the two were conversing, the lady of the house emerged, holding two glasses of water in her hands and offered them to the weary yatris. She went back into the house once they returned the empty glasses, smiling gratefully at the lady, to whom they both were total strangers. Now, they started appreciating the kind gesture of the lady who had volunteered to quench their thirst. Just then the lady returned, holding two tumblers full to the brim with steaming coffee and offered them to the delighted atithis. The sevikas, though used to hear in bouddhik sessions of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, descriptions of uncommon virtues in so-called common people of Bharat, were pleasantly surprised that day by the thoughtful hospitality of that grihini. To the kind-hearted host, the sevikas introduced themselves as well as the work of the Samiti in organising Hindu women. They promised to invite her to a forthcoming utsav of the Samiti before taking leave of her. Of course, they kept their promise.
