Stress on social harmony, spread of shakhas and national awakening
Annual report presented by Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha in Nagpur.
WE all have assembled here on the first day of the birth-centenary year of P.P. Shri Guruji to undertake the annual review of our activity and the situation in the country. This is the first Pratinidhi Sabha of my entire life in which Shri Seshadriji is not present. In the last few years many of our elders like Shri Rajju Bhaiya, Shri Moropant Pingle, Shri Dattopant Thengadi, Shri H.V. Seshadri, Shri Bhideji, etc who used to provide us necessary strength in all respects, have left us for the other world. It is natural that memories of all of them and many other brethren who have left us permanently come to mind on this occasion. After the last Karyakari Mandal session many names have been added to that list of remembrance.
Sangh Activity
In the Sangh Siksha Vargas held at the beginning of the last session, 12,017 trainees had taken part in the Pratham Varsha from 7,794 places; 3,300 attended the Dwitiya Varsha from 2,548 places. For Tritiya Varsha a total of 945 trainees came from 851 places. In the Proudha Vargas, 429 in Pratham Varsha, 220 in Dwitiya Varsha and 164 in Tritiya Varsha underwent training.
Efforts in the last three years for improving in our activity have started yielding fruits slowly. Reports available till February 2 itself indicate that we have 51,201 shakhas running in over 35,790 places. Saptahik Milans are being held at more than 9,093 places and Sangh Mandalis at 8,016 places. There is a rise of 2,500 shakhas in 1,500 places, which is indicative of the enthusiastic atmosphere created on the occasion of the birth centenary of Shri Guruji. We would be listening to the encouraging reportage of the future plans for multi-dimensional expansion of our work in the Pratinidhi Sabha. On the basis of this increased strength, if we utilise the occasion of the birth-centenary celebration to further expand our contacts and social awaking work, we would be able to keep up the progress of our activity intact in the coming years. We keep getting a feel of the love and affection of the society towards us in its support to the activities, programmes and ventures that our Swayamsevaks undertake from time-to-time.
In the name of peace talks the policy appears to be to further the validity of the claims of Pakistan and show more and more flexibility on our side. It betrays a lack of alertness about the innate designs of Pakistan and security of our borders. On Nepal issue, need of the hour is to give up hollow ideological positioning; keeping in mind our border security and strong cultural bonds and making efforts to ensure that Nepal becomes a better and stronger ally of ours. Increasing infiltration of the Bangladeshis in the North-East and other border areas is clearly visible to everyone. Yet it is not just overlooked, even encouraged for the sake of selfish vote-bank politics.
Relief and other service activities
Swayamsevaks would always be in the forefront in serving the society at the time of challenges of sudden calamities. The Swayamsevaks have upheld this tradition in various provinces this year too. They have demonstrated their commitment towards
the society during the unprecedented floods that affected various parts of the country during the monsoon season.
A total of 357 Swayamsevaks worked from five days to one month in the relief activity during the floods in Damoh and Balaghat districts, Amangunj tehsil, Katni and Amangunj towns of Panna district?-all in Mahakoshal province. In Damoh district, arrangements for stay and food had been made for 10,000 people for two days in 10 relief camps. About 5,000 sets of clothes, food material and utensils were distributed. Responsibility of distributing the relief material supplied by the government also was handed over to Swayamsevaks who also undertook the responsibility of reconstruction of five villages. In 16 villages of Lanzi and Kiranapur tehsils of Balaghat district, Swayamsevaks arranged for food and shelter and also rebuilt 150 huts. About 138 families enjoyed the benefits of this relief activity. Ten relief camps were organised in Amangunj tehsil of Panna district. Lives of 85 people had been saved during the relief activity undertaken in 75 villages. In Katni town too, immediate help was rendered to 500 people in the relief camps.
In Tiruchirapalli district and Tiruchi town of Tamil Nadu 5,250 Swayamsevaks organised relief camps under the aegis of Sewa Bharati or otherwise and provided relief material and food to the affected. Lives of seven people were saved too. In Cuddalore district when the bunds of Bellaru river broke resulting in floods, Swayamsevaks carried out relief activity by reaching there on bicycles and swimming across the river. Relief activities were organised through three relief camps. In Kottupuram area of Chennai city, Swayamsevaks removed 1,500 people from the flood-affected areas to safer areas. The Swayamsevaks also supplied food and relief material in the flood-affected areas. This was the most severe flood for Chennai city in the last 50 years.
For Konkan province including Mumbai city the experience of rains and floods this year was unheard of in the recent past if not unprecedented. The courage and support displayed by the society in facing this calamity is unforgettable. Swayamsevaks too discharged their duties during flood-relief operations and proved their worth beyond expectations. Transport and all other civic amenities had come to a complete standstill in Mumbai due to water-logging. The Nagar Karyawah of Sangh reached 250 persons to their homes by his own vehicle in Vikhroli. In Appapada of Malad, the home and factory of Nagar Sanghachalak Shri Harishchandra Yadav was submerged, yet he arranged for food and stay of 300 persons on the first floor of his house. In Titwalla, Swayamsevaks ran a fair-price shop to prevent black-marketing of foodgrains. At Ulhasnagar, the Tehsil Karyavah risked his own life to save a mother and her two young children. Muslim fishermen´s associations of Veldur and Anjanvel villages of Guhagar tehsil distributed relief material for 130 families at the Chiploon Sangh office. Heads of Muslim localities were insistent upon getting support from the Sangh. The Sangh Karyalaya at Chiploon was converted into a flood control room of the city. Many activists of the allied organisations like Vidyarthi Parishad had also actively supported Swayamsevaks in this activity.
In Alapuzha district of Kerala 22 houses were handed over to the victims of tsunami by P.P. Sarsanghachalakji on November 1, 2005 as part of the rehabilitation measures. Another 200 houses are under-construction in Tamil Nadu also which will be handed over in a month or two. As per the information available so far, three mobile dispensaries are working there. A total of 1,140 temporary houses, three community centres and two orphanages are already in use. This ever-vigilant strength of the Swayamsevaks that takes on the challenges posed from time to time in different parts of the country could be created through their own relentless pursuit of imbibing noble virtues and maintaining live contact with the society only. This is the reason why we find orderliness, attraction and extensive popular affection in our activities. Those activities manifest the noble sentiments that emanate from the heart of the society only. Some of the programmes and initiatives taken up by our people in the last session are a standing example of it.
Centenary of anti-partition movement of Bengal
Following the resolution at the Mangalore Pratinidhi Sabha, centenary celebrations of the glorious epoch of the fight against partition of Bengal were held at various places in the country. Our activists used all their creativity and talent to organise various programmes like singing of Vande Mataram in huge rallies, processions etc. 26,317 public and 3,621 shakha programmes were held in 18,255 places in the entire country in which 1,64,05,000 people, including 2,16,361 Swayamsevaks and 2,28,226 women, participated. Extensive cooperation and support from the society, administration and government has manifested the intense feeling of patriotism latent in the social mind. Examples from only two provinces are being mentioned here due to constraints of space.
In Mulugu village of Warangal district of Paschim Andhra province, huge rain lashed out at the beginning of the programme in which 6,000 students were participating. Disturbed house of students was brought to order by reminding them in just one sentence of the sacrifices made in the name of Vande Mataram. Loud slogans of Vande Mataram were rendered for five times. Incidentally the rain had stopped soon after that. In Palakurti village of the same district local head of the police station had purchased all the stickers from our activists and got them pasted on all vehicles in the village. Kakinada, which had witnessed boycott of Vande Mataram one day in history, witnessed a massive programme of 5,000 students. Many senior police officials including three SPs attended the programmes in Poorva Andhra province. At Guntur, the SP and ASP were present with their entire battalion holding the Vande Mataram flag. Over 300 leaders of various political parties participated in all these programmes. In Jaipur city of Rajasthan 46,247 citizens formed a 4.3 km human chain on August 12. About 3000 citizens were present in a pictorial presentation and a lecture by the eminent artist Shri Satyanarain Mourya at Alwar. At the conclusion 800 people presented a unique spectacle of holding aarti to Bharatmata.
We have to focus our attention on social harmony and shakhas and through the programmes create an extensive awakening, activity and contacts in the noble forces of the country. Shri Guruji´s strong determination, relentless penance, boundless love and matchless self-confidence are in front of us as inspiring memories. We are the inheritors of the great virtues of his noble and pure character. Let us reach the pinnacle of our activity and launch the phase of incepting a society and a leadership that would transform the destiny of our nation Bharat.
Konkan tour of P.P. Sarsanghachalakji
A Bauddhik Varga was organised for all the Swayamsevaks of Mumbai on December 11, 2005 at the famous Shivaji Park. Swayamsevaks were informed of this programme through oral communication only. Ghosh demonstration by selected Swayamsevaks and solo song were very impressive. Over 750 mothers and sisters were also present. A similar programme was organised at Panjim in Goa on January 11, 2006 in which 5,600 Tarun Swayamsevaks and 2,100 mothers and sisters were present from both the districts of Gomantak Vibhag.
A special event was organised in Goa on January 12, 2006 in which P.P. Sarsangha-chalakji had gone to Kunkalli and offered floral tributes to the martyrs at the Martyrs´ Memorial Pillar. This Pillar, located at Kunkalli village near Madgaon has a unique history. Inhabitants of today´s Christian village had waged a fierce struggle against the cruel atrocities and proselytisation efforts of the Christian missionaries some 475 years ago to protect their land and religion. Five missionaries got killed in that struggle. Sixteen leaders of the struggle were killed through deceit in the end. Shri Shanta Durga temple in the village was demolished; a so-called temple of martyrs was erected in front of it for the five missionaries; and those valiant villagers were branded murderers.
Although the Hindus of that area were converted, the pain of the above mentioned humiliation continued to haunt them generation after generation. Finally, a Martyrs´ Memorial Pillar inscribed with the names of the 16 martyr-leaders was erected on November 26, 1999 right opposite the so-called temple of martyrs. A large number of Swayamsevaks were present at the dedication programme of this pillar along with villagers of all ages. The Chairman of Kunkalli city council, Shri Vaz and the citizens welcomed P.P. Sarsanghachalakji on January 12, 2006. P.P. Sarsanghachalakji had an interaction at an elderly freedom fighter Dr Euclid D´Souza´s house. Dr D´Souza expressed his inspiring feelings. At the entrance of the house under the nameplate of Dr D´Souza proclaimed in bold Devnagari letters was his glorious ancestry? Seshagiri Suryavamshi. Dr Verissimo Kutinho who spearheaded the efforts for the construction of the Martyrs Memorial Pillar conveyed his feelings through phone from abroad: ?We are in favour of our dharma and our rule. Our ancestors are the same. Let us try to put the record of our history straight.? After the address of P.P. Sarsanghachalakji, photos were taken with the villagers.
Vibhag Sanghik at Bhagyanagar
On the occasion of P.P. Sarsanghachalakji´s visit to Paschim Andhra province, a Vibhag Sanghik had been organised at Bhagyanagar on December 25, 2005. Comprehensive list of Swayamsevaks in the Vibhag was prepared. A total of 2,065 gatas have been created for 29,580 Swayamsevaks. Preparations for the programme went on for three months that included baithaks for Gata Nayaks. Shakha expansion took place in the Vibhag. Number of Shakhas has increased from 310 to 357. 1400 Gata Nayaks became active. Number of people who purchased knickers doubled. In the programme, 7,632 Swayam-sevaks were present in mandatory uniform and 850 in full uniform. Shri R. Krishnaiah of the Backward Castes Welfare Association attended as the chief guest. Many Leftist organisations opposed his participation in the Sangh programme through media pressure. Shri Krishnaiah condemned these evil designs of the Leftists in his address and emphasised the need for all sections of the Hindu society to come together. Inspiring address of P.P. Sarsanghachalakji and the success of this programme injected new spirit into the Swayamsevaks.
On the economic front, turning an unabashed blind eye to the interests of farmers, labour and entrepreneurs, policies are being brought in that would only increase the influence of the MNCs and foreign economy on our country. Whether corruption has reached the top or whether it originates there is a question to ponder over. No remedy is in sight for the corruption of those who are supposed to eradicate it.
Rashtra Raksha Sanchalan in Kerala
In Kerala, terrorist and anti-national activities are on the rise due to the politics of minorityism, politicisation of the police force and inadequate law and order arrangements. Cacophony of the pseudo-secular and pseudo-human rights groups drowns the voice of the ordinary people. The Rashtra Raksha Sanchalan lent a voice to these suppressed feelings of the masses. That is why this Sanchalan with the motto: Tasmad jagrata jagrata attracted the attention of the people widely. This Sanchalan started on January 5, 2006 from the famous Bekal fort in Kasargod district. It carried the torch brought from Mavilamtod, the land of the great sacrifice of Pazhassi Raja who had waged a guerilla war against the British in the Malayanchal region of Kerala during the 18th century. During the first leg a Ghosh Vahini from Dakshin Karnataka was also present. One Ghosh Dal used to cover 10 kms and the next Dal would take over from there. A public programme used to take place at the place of night stay in which eminent persons, artists, sportsmen, soldiers, freedom fighters, writers and other masters of skills used to be felicitated. Lectures discussing various facets of national security used to follow them. One more torch joined the Sanchalan on January 23 from an ancient renowned place called Valiyaveedu, the land of another great freedom fighter and martyr Shri Veluthambi Dalwa. This 697-km-long march culminated at the famous Padmanabha Swami temple in Thiruvananthapuram at 6 am on January 24, 2006. About 3,957 players from 136 Ghosh Dals participated in it and 1,35,000 people and Swayamsevaks also participated in it, which included those who joined it for short distances too. 136 people were felicitated in 22 public programmes. The senior-most Pracharak 82-year-old Shri R. Venugopal was the oldest person to participate in the Sanchalan who marched in it for 10 kms. The youngest was the Ghosh Pramukh of Palakkad 12-year-old Vikas. In the early hours of January 26, Republic Day was celebrated by hoisting the national flag at Thiruvananthapuram. Six route marches of Ghosh Dals were organised in the evening, which merged into three streams and reached the venue of the concluding programme?Rashtra Raksha Sammelan. A total of 2,779 players presented an attractive Ghosh demonstration. 42,000 spectators were present at the programme venue?the University stadium. This programme gave a boost to the enthusiasm of our Swayamsevaks. Number of Ghosh centres was increased from 77 to 159. It helped in creating a conducive atmosphere for Shri Guruji birth centenary.
Bharatiya Go-Vansha Rakshana Shivir, Mhysapur
Whatever Swayamsevaks initiate doesn´t remain merely a programme of the Sangh, but becomes a part of the mainstream activity of the society. The story of the Goshala started by our Swayamsevaks at Mhysapur in the Akola district of Vidarbha is one such example. It ran successfully and almost became self-reliant. After that, 100 youths from 10 known villages in each tehsil of Akola district were invited to the Goshala for one day each tehsil-wise. This programme was organised for 7-8 months under the guidance of Shri Sanjayji Maharaj and Shri Hukumchandji Sawla. Subsequently, day-long training programmes were organised tehsil-wise for over 1,000 activists with the help of these 100 youths. Shri Daimaji Maharaj, Dr (Ms) Preeti Joshi of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industrialisation, Wardha, Shri Kunwarjibhai Jadhav of the Kisan Sangh, Shri Kesarichandji Mehta and Shri Godha of the Akhil Bharatiya Goseva Sangh were present in these training programmes as per their convenience. A huge convention was planned in the end with the help of these activists with a view to introduce modern advances in cattle protection to the farmers. Plans were made to contact all village heads. Some 800-1000 activists attended the day-long training from 750 villages bearing travel expenses themselves and paying Rs 10 as camp fee. Camp went on in a very disciplined atmosphere. Shri Tukaram Maharaj, Shri Hukumchand Sawla, Shri Kesarichand Mehta, Shri Rajiv Dikshit, saint Shri Bhaiyaji Maharaj from Indore, Shri Daima Maharaj, editor of daily Deshonnati Shri Prakash Pohare and renowned saint Shri Kishore Vyas were present in the camp. All the participants took oath to serve the cattle every day and devote 15 days every year for cattle protection activity. We are experiencing the relentless progress of our activity and ever-increasing love and co-operation of the society everyday. We have to step into the next phase of our activity on that strength only during the sacred and inspiring occasion of Shri Guruji birth centenary.
Shri Guruji Birth Centenary
The birth centenary year of Shri Guruji is commencing from February 24, Vijaya Ekadashi day. We are all aware that a national committee has been formed with 122 eminent citizens from different spheres and walks of life in the country to oversee the birth centenary activities. A council of patrons has also been formed with 53 eminent saints representing various traditions and sects. Revered Shri Satyamitranandaji is the president of the committee and Justice (Retd.) Rama Jois is its working president. Dr Bajranglal Gupta would function as its secretary. The Complete Works of Shri Guruji has already been published in Hindi and Gujarati. Where the translation is still incomplete, special attention should be paid in those languages to ensure early completion of the same. A total of 20 booklets containing views expressed by Shri Guruji on various issues from time to time are also being published. We all will receive information about the future programmes and other instructions from the committee in the Pratinidhi Sabha.
About 42,000 spectators were present at the programme venue?the University stadium. This programme gave a boost to the enthusiasm of our Swayamsevaks.
Perspective
Dark clouds of challenges are overtaking the horizons of our national skies. We find the government and administration falling terribly short of the displaying firmness and clarity with determination in tackling the menace of terrorism. This dilly-dallying and debility will only lead to strengthening of terrorism and weakening of the morale of the people. Attitude of both PDP and National Conference has become clear on the Kashmir question. What is getting rewarded there is a policy that would directly or indirectly hinder the possibility of awakening the consciousness of total integration with Bharat. Increasing infiltration of the Bangladeshis in the North East and other border areas is clearly visible to everyone. Yet it is not just overlooked, even encouraged for the sake of selfish vote bank politics. Country´s leadership is busy promoting its own selfish political ends instead of paying attention to devising strong national policies to take on these serious challenges and strengthen our national security.
Decisions made by the higher constitutional institutions like the Supreme Court are not honoured; instead they are being run down verbally. Those who are expected to protect country´s constitutional traditions and institutions themselves indulge in distorting and destroying them for their narrow selfish ends. There is no containment of the forces that generate terrorism through conversion, strengthen and support it. Forces that run down democracy, constitution etc ideologically and practically too are creating fa?ade of acting as their protectors and bending them to suit their interests. Political power is being used as an instrument to hurt Hindu sentiments. Political power and the control it brings over education and media is being used openly to defame patriots and their nationalist ideology.
On the economic front, turning an unabashed blind eye to the interests of farmers, labour and entrepreneurs policies are being brought in that would only increase the influence of the MNCs and foreign economy on our country. Whether corruption has reached the top or whether it originates there is a question to ponder over. No remedy is in sight for the corruption of those who are supposed to eradicate it.
However, on the other hand, it appears that the common man of the country is seized of all these questions and issues. People are not only understanding the situation but also are eager to come to the forefront to tackle it. We find this energy and efficiency in all walks of life in the country from industry and commerce to science and technology. Society is looking forward to the leadership of noble forces. Society is the true master of the destiny of the country. Government and administration are its instruments only. Solution to the present crisis lies in society becoming strong, self-reliant and harmonious.
Keeping this perspective in mind we have designed our mission, vision and programmes for the birth centenary of Shri Guruji. We have to focus our attention on social harmony and shakhas and through the programmes create extensive awakening, activity and contacts in the noble forces of the country. This is our sacred duty today.

Free nuclear policy of foreign pressure
The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) is concerned over the reports that the Bharat-US civilian nuclear agreement signed by our Prime Minister and the President of the United States of America in July 2005 is prejudicial to our national interests as it appears designed to emasculate Indian nuclear capability?both civilian and defence?and make it perpetually dependent on the US for all future initiatives.
The ABPS feels that the provision in the agreement for capping all future nuclear tests by Bharat would be most incongruous and inappropriate. Nuclear tests are essential for our future nuclear research. Similarly, the much-touted Nuclear Power Status is a mere lip service. Unless we are accorded that status officially, it will be risky to open our nuclear establishment for inspection by the IAEA officials. For a non-nuclear country these inspections are going to be much more stringent.
The ABPS is of the view that the demand for separation of civilian and defence programmes is fraught with serious implications. As many scientists pointed out, our nuclear facilities are primarily civilian, while we are free to use them for defence-related purposes. Even if we intend to separate them we would be putting three quarters of our nuclear programme including the scientific manpower under the IAEA control. The ABPS feels that it will not be in our national interest.
The ABPS expects the government to turn its attention to the vast Thorium reserves available in our country, which can be explored to meet the fuel requirements for our reactors so that we can keep up our independence in our future nuclear initiatives?civilian or otherwise.
The ABPS congratulates the leading lights of our scientific community and foreign policy experts who stood up firmly against the provisions of the Indo-US agreement that are found wanting on the question of our vital national interests thus alerting the nation and the government.
The ABPS calls upon the government to tread cautiously and transparently on this extremely sensitive national security issue. It should adopt a long-term nuclear policy after thorough deliberations with scientists, defence experts, services chiefs and foreign policy experts. The nuclear policy thus adopted must be free from any foreign pressure.
Scrap Sachar panel
THE Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) notes with regret that ever since the UPA government came to power in 2004, there has been a blatant revival of the trademark Congress´ appeasement politics in the country. In its unabashed attempts to woo Muslims with an eye on their vote-bank, the UPA government resorted to several measures like hiking Haj subsidy, trying to accord minority status to AMU by hook or crook after it was rejected by the Allahabad High Court, announcing a 15-point minority welfare programme etc. Instead of trying to bridge the minority-majority gap, which should end in the national interest, the government sought to constitutionalise it by creating a special Ministry for minorities. All this clearly indicates that the government is not only highly communal but also disrespectful to judiciary and neglects national interests.
The ABPS reiterates that all the people of the country are one nation and inheritors of one great culture and civilisation. Mere change of religion does not make a national citizen a minority. Even our judiciary has endorsed this fact.
The ABPS strongly condemns the Union Government´s move to amend the Foreigners Act with the ulterior motive of circumventing the spirit of the Supreme Court´s landmark verdict quashing the dubious IMDT Act in Assam. The proposed amendment has a clause exclusively for Assam, which puts the onus of producing prima facie evidence against the person in question on the State Police, as against the person in question himself in the rest of the country. In other words, the UPA government has adopted a crude disguise for incorporating the provisions of the IMDT Act into the Foreigners Act itself in a surreptitious manner.
The ABPS warns that this attempt to protect illegal migrants from Bangladesh for narrow electoral gains would cause irreparable damage to the integrity of the nation, because it will enable the foreign disruptive elements to infiltrate in large number, acquire citizen status and thereby become MLAs and MPs. The ABPS calls upon the countrymen in general and people of Assam in particular to do everything to defeat the forces behind such moves.
The ABPS also wants to underscore the fact that these appeasement policies are only emboldening the fundamentalist elements among those sections. Steep rise in the violent activities in several parts of the country especially after the Denmark-cartoons incidents is indicative of this. It is shameful that a Minister in the government of Uttar Pradesh openly announces a sum of Rs 51 crore for murder and still gets away with it. The UPA leaders, in their efforts to pander to such rabid fundamentalist elements, not only tried to justify such provocative statements as ?natural reaction´ but also found it imperative to lodge a protest with the Danish government on behalf of Indian Muslims. The country has never come across any occasion when these leaders reacted in the same way when Hindu sentiments about sacred national symbols, gods and goddesses and revered saints and other holy personalities were hurt in Bharat or abroad.
The ABPS considers the appointment of Justice (Retd) Rajender Sachar Committee to advise the government on the status of Muslims in the country as the height of appeasement. Among other things, this committee has been asked to identify the states, regions, districts and blocks in which the Muslims mostly live. Will this not push the country towards another Partition, because precisely the same was the basis of 1947 partition? It is very unfortunate that the committee even resorted to the most dangerous move of dividing our armed forces on religious lines by seeking a head count of Muslims among them. The ABPS compliments the countrymen, including the former and present armed force personnel, for taking a firm stand against this dangerous step thus forcing the government to backtrack.
The ABPS demands that the Sachar committee be scrapped forthwith as it is posing serious threat to Bharat´s unity, integrity and true secularism, and calls upon the people to strongly oppose all moves of appeasement like minority reservations on the basis of religion in the entire country on the lines of the ones tried unsuccessfully in Andhra Pradesh.
Pratinidhi Sabha pays homage to departed souls
Elders who had performed fierce penance with utmost dedication in a quiet and unassuming manner by offering their lives at the altar of the movement for national renaissance like our senior Pracharak Shri Lakshmanrao Taranekar, who worked in Indore and Gwaliar; Shri Bhavendu Bhattacharya of Swastika in Kolkata; Shri Sudhakar Rao Vaidya of Assam, Shri Manoharrao Dongre; and Shri Bhaiyyaji Kasture of Delhi are no more. Shri Manikchand Vajpayee who had set a glowing example of Sangh life as a familied man as well as a Pracharak is no more. Shri Bhumidev Goswami, former Karyavah and Sanghachalak of Assam who used to be remembered for his insistence on presenting report of the work in Pratinidhi Sabha in a lucid and gifted Sanskrit passed away. Shri Shyam Naraian Sinha, former Vibhag Sanghachalak of Aaryamgarh is no more. Dr Kanhu Naik, Vibhag Sanghachalk of Sundergarh passed away due to sudden heart attack. Shri Bharati Ramanachar, an eminent Vedic scholar and our Swayamsevak who translated Sri Ramacharitamanas into Kannada and who guided the gurukuls running in that state is no more. Ex-pracharak Shri Narsingh Murti of Shimoga, the provincial Dharmacharya Sampark Pramukh of Vishwa Hindu Parishad also passed away. Shri Khyalilal Godha who used to shoulder the responsibility of Go-Raksha in Vishwa Hindu Parishad passed away in Udaipur. Shri Sailendranath Srivatsava, President, Samskar Bharati passed away suddenly. Shri Krishnand Rai, MLA from Gajipur (UP) fell victim to the attack of cruel mafia gangsters.
