Chikmagalur, Karnataka: BJP City General Secretary Mohammed Anwar (40) has been murdered and killed by suspected PFI terrorists in the city. Anwar’s car was stopped on the road and the assailants had knifed him at seven places on his body.
The police have registered an FIR on Asif and Yousuf Haji for the murder. The police say that the investigations are on. The two are suspected to be workers of PFI in the district.
Anwar, a resident of Uppalli Layout, was on his way to another location on Friday when the incident occurred at about 9.30 pm on the Gauri Canal Layout road. It has come to light that he was followed by the two assailants for a distance before waylaying his car.
Anwar, who was severely injured, was immediately admitted to the District Public Hospital here. However, the treatment was not successful and he breathed his last yesterday night.
