Sainik Parishad
celebrates Vijay Diwas

Delhi
unit of Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (PSSP) organised a function in
New Delhi to commemorate the thumping victory of Indian Armed forces
which had defeated and forced the 93,000 Pakistani soldiers to surrender
at Dhaka on December 16, 1971. Parents of Lt. Arun Khetrapal, PVC,
who made supreme sacrifice in the 1971 war also attended the function.
Shri Mukesh Khetrapal expressed his extreme grief for not remembering
the great sacrifice of his brother Arun Khetrapal in these long 29
years.
Anyhow, he thanked
PSSP for arranging the function. Presiding over the function minister
of State for Surface Transport Maj. Gen. B.C. Khanduri, AVSM, said
: “if we have given our prime youth to service in armed forces they
have also given us a lot, teaching us discipline and the right way
of living”. He reminded the ex-servicemen ‘let us not say what the
nation can give us, let us say what we can give to the nation’. Wg.
Cdr. K.L. Nagpal, Joint Organising Secretary, PSPP informed that trusts
were being formed for Azad Hind Fauz Smarak and for looking after
the families of martyrs. Gen. R.P. Agarwal proposed vote of thanks.
