Kannur, The Kurukshetra of Kerala

From Our Correspondent

Swayamsevaks offering last homage to Chandrangathan, the dear departedCPM attacks on the BJP and RSS workers since 1968 in Kannur district of Kerala know no bounds. The CPM-led Government is taking a sadistic pleasure in wiping out the BJP-RSS workers from the State. The Government is totally indifferent to the RSS/BJP activists and is treating them like dirt. Peace conferences are convened there after each series of incidents and it goes on as usual failing to clear the air. The Kannur district has become a battlefield, where the BJP, which is a minority, is encountered by the majority CPM activists. So far they have killed 53 RSS/BJP workers in Kannur district. More than a hundred people have lost their limbs and eyes in the Marxist goons' assaults and some are living as dead. More than 175 houses of the BJP workers have been destroyed and many a BJP activists have been driven out of their houses.

In some areas in Kannur, especially Thalassery, Panoor, Kathiroor and Kuthuparamba, only those policemen are posted who back the CPM or are the puppets in the hands of this party, so that the RSS and BJP workers can be suppressed and thus the inhuman acts of these malicious CPM activists are strengthened. The police remain silent and later arrest the innocents whenever the CPM activists make attacks on the RSS or BJP activists. The nasty side of the police in Kerala would be obvious if the brutal killings are put to study.

The ruthless CPM-led Government is backing the devilish deeds of its goons. The Chief Minister E.K. Nayanar's attempt to wipe out BJP and RSS before the completion of his tenure is worth to be noticed. The BJP is fighting tooth and nail to survive among the CPM demons whose soul aim is to drive the BJP out of Kerala. The achievements of BJP in the recent Panchayat election has added fuel to the fire. The party has emerged as a decisive factor, worth to decide, whether the United Democratic Front (UDF) or the Left Democratic Front (LDF) should rule over some corporations and councils in Kerala and the Congress' soft corner towards the BJP has become a menace to the CPM which may dwindle away to nothing in the elections ahead.

Shri H.V. Seshadri, Sahsarkaryavah of RSS, visited those places on December 2 and 3 where the CPM goons' plans of brutal murders and destructions were executed. During his visit the Marxist goons killed three swayamsevaks. Shri Seshadri found to his utter disappointment that there was nobody to console or to give financial help to the dead persons' families. When he called on the nearby Sangh Karyalaya he was shocked to see the torn pictures of Doctorji, Guruji, Bharat Mata and broken idols, windows, doors and furniture scattered all over there. Reportedly, though the Marxists' wild dance went on for two hours, no policemen from the nearby police station turned up to defend them. On the very day itself, a nineteen-year-old boy, Biju, who came to have his food at home at about 10 a.m. was killed by the Marxist goons chasing him on the road. His house was destroyed completely and his grief-stricken mother has now sought shelter in a relative's house.

In another attack, a former Karyavah and VHP activist Shri C.K. Chandran was brutally murdered at his home and his wife's ornaments were seized by a Marxist activist named Baiju. Now his wife is left with two little children, devoid of any help from outside. On December 4 in Kuthuparamba, the former Karyavah of the place Shri Chandrangadhan who came to celebrate his daughter's first birthday was put to cold-blooded murder at his wife's house. He was doing business in Mysore as he had posed repeated threats when he was the Karyavah there. His house was also looted. Shri Seshadri has also called on the prisoners in the Kannur Central Jail. The swayamsevaks among these prisoners daily offer prayers inside the jail and reportedly the jailor is much dazzled by their discipline.

Reportedly, the suspension of the Jail Superintendent B. Joseph Thomas for allowing Shri Seshadri to meet the RSS/BJP prisoners has kicked up a controversy in Kerala. But Shri Seshadri has denied the charge and has clarified that through the visit, he just wanted to study the conditions under which the prisoners live in the jail. “The prisoners told me that the jail officers have been dealing with them all along in a just and fair manner”, he said. Later in a statement Shri Seshadri said that a dharmayudha is going on in this family where we are sisters and brothers. This war stems from the disparity in the basic principle of two groups where one represents Stalin who told “intense hatred is the basis of our success” and the other obeys Guruji who preached “intense love is the basis of our success”. And what is its result? It has left USSR now a heap of broken images whereas Sangh is thriving and spreading its ideology all over the world.

Recently, Nayanar had said: “The sun of socialism is set but it will come back”. It seems that he is employing his goons in the State to restore the essence of the impractical social ideals. In Kerala, the Nayanar Government is facing major tragedies due to their corruption and irresponsibilities. The Hooch tragedy which took the lives of more than 40 people has blackened the Nayanar Government. And the death of animals in the Pappinissery Park in the Chief Minister's own district Kannur has defamed the Government. The last four years of his rule was an era of crime, woman-assault (even by a minister), cruelty on opposite parties as well as animals, loot, corruption and what not? Nayanar has claimed recently that he will complete the tenure of five years which even the veteran EMS Namboothirippad, the late Marxist leader and former Chief Minister, couldn't do in his time. This ‘accomplished’ ruler has the abovementioned achievements to its credit which even EMS couldn't have.

Nayanar's rule in the last four years has left Kerala a notorious State of violence and the people of the State are disheartened and disillusioned with it. Furthermore, the RSS/BJP workers' families are facing many hardships including poverty as they are denied jobs in many establishments in Kerala headed by the Marxists, including Rubco, Raidco and other co-operative institutions. Such discriminations and intense attacks by the Marxists make Kerala a place unfit for the BJP/RSS workers to dwell on.
