Hind Fauj Diwas observed Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (PSSP), an organisation of war veterans
observed Azad Hind Fauj Diwas on April 18, 2000, by unfurling the national flag at the
historic Red Fort. On this day in 1944, the Indian National Army (INA) under the
leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose unfurled the flag at Moirang in Manipur after
liberating a portion of the motherland from the British.
On this occassion Netaji Subhas Bal Sena (NSBS) performed a
march past. These students, between 11-13 years, are imparted military training by the
PSSP members in their schools.
AVM (retd.) H.S. Ghuman, Shri Suresh Patel, chairman CCF,
California, USA, Maj Gen. S.K. Awasthi, General Officer Commanding Delhi area, Shri Harin
Pathak, Minister of State for Defence, Lt. Gen (retd.) R.P. Agarwal, president PSSP and
Shri Pradeep Bose, nephew of Netaji shared the dais. Wg Cdr (retd) K.L. Nagpal gave an
introduction to the theme of the function. |
