Hedgewar Pragya Samman to Narendra Kohli From Our Correspondent
The irony today is that we are accepting social ills as our culture. I am proud that I am a conventionalist. Dr Narendra Kohli said after receiving the award. Dr Kohli stressed that our conventions need to be understood in totality. He felt that his receiving this award is the honour of the hoary Indian tradition. In his eloquent style, Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah of RSS hailed the great mission undertaken by Dr Hedgewar. Main speaker of the function, Shri Bhagwat lamented the state of the nation when after 53 years of political independence, singing Vande Mataram and Saraswati Vandana leads to conflicts. Dr Hedgewar's pragya (wisdom) should be spread to one and all, he wished. Acharya Vishnukant Shastri, Governor of Himachal Pradesh presided over the function. Acharya Shastri asserted that we should learn to live for the nation and for this we need to draw inspiration from the life and ideals of Dr Hedgewar. Dr Prem Prakash Tripathi read messages from Shri K.S. Sudarshan, Sarsanghchalak of RSS and Dr Bhai Mahavir, Governor of Madhya Pradesh. Dr Sujit Dhar threw light on the life of Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of RSS. The programme was compered by Shri Vimal Lath and a vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Mahavir Bajaj, secretary of the Burrabazar Pustkalaya. Sarsanghchalak of Eastern India Shri Kalidas Basu, National vice-president of BJP Shri Kailashpati Mishr, and wife of Dr Nerandra Kohli, Smt Madhurima Kohli were also present on the dais. |
