State Government acted casually : Jual Oram
He said, the Centre extended all possible help to the State to deal with the situation arising as a result of the super cyclone that hit coastal districts of Orissa, killing thousands and marooning an equal number. "We should not waste time over quibbling on whether the disaster that struck Orissa is a national calaminity or not", he opined. He said that the Prime Minister has already pronounced this calamity as the "National Calamity" of rare severity and has mobilised entire country in coming to the aid of the State. The Minister was unhappy over the way the State Government failed to avail of the help pouring in from various parts of the country. He further added that the Gujarat Government has deputed disaster experts to help the State in disposing off bodies and carcases. Shri Jual Oram claimed that the experts from Gujarat came along with necessary chemicals, but were not deployed for three days. |
