Grahak Panchayat's workshop in Orissa
BHUBANESWAR : A two-day State-level workshop of the Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, Orissa, was held here recently to impart training to its volunteers and office-bearers to accelerate efficiency of the organisation.
Shri Bindu Madhav Joshi, All India Organising Secretary of the Panchayat, enlightened the participants about the organisation. This is a socio-economic organisation and is neither affiliated to nor a branch of any political party, Shri Joshi said. The Panchayat is propagating the rights and duties of consumers through a mass movement and emphasising involvement of more and more consumers to fight against their own exploitation. Shri Joshi expressed his concern over globalisation and open economy.
Among other eminent personalities who participated in the function were S/Shri Arabinda Dhalli, Minister for Co-operative Textiles and Handlooms, Ved Prakash Agrawal, Minister for Supply and Consumer Affairs, Government of Orissa, Nalinikanta Roy, State Organising Secretary of Grahak Panchayat, Suvasen Jena, M. Selva Kumar, Senior Zonal Manager, Hindustan Petrolium Corporation Limited, Bhubaneswar, Ajit Mohapatra, Prant Pracharak, RSS and Sanjit Kumar Panda.
