KIIT felicitates new ministers

Dawn of progress in Orissa

Mishra.Also seen little Ms Lincy(Inset)KIIT Secretary felicitating K.V.Singh DeoKALINGA Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a registered voluntary organisation recently felicitated two State Cabinet Ministers of Orissa, Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan (Revenue, Law, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry) and Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo (Industries) at Campus-I, Patia, Bhubaneswar.

True to its tradition, Shri Achyutananda Samanta, Secretary of KIIT along with his management members and students gave a red carpet welcome to the newly-appointed Ministers of Orissa on entering the Campus.

Speaking on the occasion, senior BJP leader and Revenue Minister of Orissa, Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan criticised the inefficiency of the previous government in the time of Super Cyclone in the State and assured to give the people a corruption-free Government in the next five year. He added that the alliance government's priorities will be to rehabilitate the stricken people in cyclone-hit areas and to stabilise the State economy which is in doldrums.

Award ditributionShri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Industry Minister of Orissa set himself a target to develop the industrial sector and assured to take care of technical education in the State. Shri Arun Panda, chief speaker at the function advised the students of KIIT to take active part in social activities.

Shri Pratap Mukhopadhyaya, Chairman, IDCO (Industrial Development Corporation of Orissa) also addressed the function and Shri G. Champati presided over the function.

While visiting the Campus III of the KIIT the Revenue and Industry Minister of Orissa highly praised Shri Samanta for his outstanding contribution the foundation of the Institute. KIIT is a rare institute of its type which is imparting qualitative technical education in Orissa. When asked about other activities of KIIT, Shri Samant said, "besides imparting quality education, we are serving the poorest of the poor in the State. A number of projects are under way at KIIT for the development of vanvasis in the State. KIIT is also running an orphnage, slum schools and is helping financially meritious students of the State.

Among others Dr P.K. Mishra, computer wizard of KIIT and Dr Chitta Ranjan Mishra, member, KIIT were present at the function. Another attraction of the function was the welcome dance by little Lincy who charmed the audience.
