| Fatwa by communist
CM From Our Correspondent RECENTLY comrade Manik Sarkar, CM of Tripura issued a fatwa that tribal culture and tribal tradition in Tripura is in danger because of the overwhelming non-tribal population of Tripura. And he is conspicuously silent about the fact that form time immemoral both tribals and non-tribals have been Hindus living amicably side by side without adversely effecting each other's traditions. It is from the year 1978 onward when the communists came to power in Tripura that tribal culture and tradition is facing danger not from the fellow Bengalis that is, the non-tribal Hindus but from the newly convert Christians who started to look down upon the tribal ethos and tradition and religion. It is a known fact in North-East India that communists, and Christian missionaries are planning strategies to convert the tribals as per schedule chalked out under the auspices of the World Council of Churches in Geneva (Switzerland) under the programme of "Churches Participation in Interfaith Dialogue". It has also been called the Christian-Communist Dialogue. It has been talk of the town in the North-East capitals as to how much is earned by which relatives/spouse/friends of communist leaders under the auspices of the church funded NGOs and only a high-level enquiry, at the level of the CBI can reveal the anti-national activities of the church, the communists and Pan-Islamic conspirators who are out to spoil the integrity of this part of the country.
